2010 World Cup 30-Man Preliminary Rosters for France and Uruguay

The rosters have been released for the 2010 World Cup and even though it’s not the final 23 man roster, this 30-man roster will give you a good idea of how you should place your World Cup bets.  On June 11, Uruguay and France will have the opening game against each other in South Africa.  Let’s take a look at both team’s 30-man preliminary rosters.

Up first is Uruguay with goalkeepers Martin Silva from Defensor Sporting, Juan Castillo from Deportivo Cali and Fernando Muslera from Lazio.

Forwards are Sebastian Fernandez from Banfield, Jorge Martinez from Catania, Edinson Cavani from Palermo, Sebastian Abreu from Botafogo, Diego Forlan from Atletico Madrid and Luis Suarez from Ajax.

Uruguay defenders are Maximiliano Pereira from Benfica, Mauricio Victorino from Universidad de Chile, Martin Caceres from Juventus, Jorge Fucile from FC Porto, Andres Scotti from Colo Colo, Diego Godin from Villarreal and Diego Lugano from Fenerbahce.

Midfielders for Uruguay include Nicolas Lodeiro from Ajax, Ignacio Gonzalez from Valencia, Alvaro Gonzalez from Nacional, Jorge Rodriguez from River Plate, Alvaro Fernandez from Universidad de Chile, Alvaro Pereira from FC Porto, Diego Perez from Monaco, Sebastian Eguren from AIK Stockholm, Egidio Arevalo Rios from Penarol and Walter Gargano from Napoli.

Now, let’s take a look at the 30-man preliminary roster for France.

France has chosen goalkeepers Mickael Landreau from Lille, Cedric Carrasso from Bordeaux, Steve Mandanda from Marseille and Hugo Lloris from Lyon.

Forwards include Jimmy Briand from Rennes, Hatem Ben Arfa from Marseille, Mathieu Valbuena from Marseille, Andre-Pierre Gignac from Toulouse, Djibril Cisse from Panathinaikos, Nicolas Anelka from Chelsea, Thierry Henry from Barcelona, Franck Ribery from Bayern Munich and Sidney Govou from Lyon.

Defenders for France are Anthony Reveillere from Lyon, Marc Planus from Bordeaux, Gael Clichy from Arsenal, Sebastien Squillaci from Sevilla, Adil Rami from Lille, Rod Fanni from Rennes, Patrice Evra from Manchester United, William Gallas from Arsenal, Eric Abidal from Barcelona and Bacary Sagna from Arsenal.

Midfielders are Florent Malouda from Chelsea, Yann M’Vila from Rennes, Abou Diaby from Arsenal, Yoann Gourcuff from Bordeaux, Alou Diarra from Bordeaux, Lassana Diarra from Real Madrid and Jeremy Toulalan from Lyon.
