2011 WGC Cadillac Championship Preview and Odds
This week, the WGC will host a prestigious golf event as the 2011 Cadillac Championship brings together the world’s top golfers March 10 through 13 in Miami, Florida, at the prominent Doral-Blue Monster Club.
The best golfers from the European Tours will join the best from the PGA and will compete against one another this week. According to SBGGlobal.com online sportsbook, the favorite heading into this golfing event is the newly ranked No. 1 golfer, Martin Kaymer.
Martin Kaymer is the pre-event favorite with odds of 9/2. While Kaymer has never actually won this particular event, he has claimed victory in four of his previous 10 golf tournaments. In his previous 13 events, he has not received a worse final finish than 31st. He is heading into this week’s event with a second-place finish at the Accenture Match Play Championship, which was also hosted by the WGC.
Next is Tiger Woods, who is currently world ranked fifth – not necessarily surprising given his recent struggles with numerous circumstances – has odds of 5/1. Regardless of recent struggles and not securing an event victory since back in 2009, Woods is still a six-time winner of the Cadillac Championship. In Woods’ previous three tournaments, he has been unable to break the top 20.
With odds of 6/1, Graeme McDowell is currently ranked fourth in the world and has seen a significant amount of improvement and increase in his golfing abilities. While he hasn’t claimed a win for this event, he did finish in sixth place for this event last year and has secured a top 10 finish in eight of his previous 10 golfing events. One of those eight top 10 finishes was a win.
Phil Mickelson is right behind Tiger Woods in the world rankings in sixth place and heads into this event with odds to win of 8/1. This event was won by Mickelson back in 2008 but in the previous three WGC sponsored events that he has participated in, well, let’s just say he hasn’t exactly played up to par. So far this year in 2011, Phil has two top 10 finishes; however, he hasn’t been able to get inside the top 20 for three of his previous six tournaments.
Those are the top four with the best odds to win this week’s golf event. Get your bets placed and don’t forget to check out live betting if it’s available at your sportsbook. It truly makes a difference in terms of excitement and exhilaration! Good luck!
