MRI Results In – Bob Sanders Suffered a Torn Biceps Tendon

We previously reported that Bob Sanders had an MRI examination and that the Indianapolis Colts were awaiting the results of the MRI.  The results have come in and it appears that he has a torn biceps tendon; however, there is no official word of how long he’ll be out.  Sanders plans on obtaining a second opinion on Wednesday from Dr. James Andrews.

The injury was initially sustained Sunday in the Colts’ loss to the Houston Texans after falling and landing on his arm wrong.  He did participate in the Colts’ practice on Monday despite his injury.

Sanders and the Colts are hoping that this second opinion will help give a timetable of how long he may be out for – whether it will be the entire season or not.  Sanders is definitely hoping it isn’t for the entire season as he was hoping that he can turn his NFL career around and not miss the majority of the regular season as he has in the past.  He has appeared in 48 games for his NFL career but he has missed 49 career games.  He was initially hoping that first number could increase significantly but with his elbow injury, which could possibly be season ending, the latter number could increase drastically.

We will report more on the two-time Pro Bowler once we hear word of his second opinion.
