Preliminary Rosters for Honduras and Chile World Cup Teams

All 32 World Cup teams have reached their deadline of announcing their preliminary rosters that include 30 names.  23 of these individuals will make their way to South Africa for the World Cup next month.  Honduras will open up against Chile on June 16.  Their preliminary rosters are listed below. 

Honduras goalkeepers include Donis Escober from Olimpia, Noel Valladares from Olimpia and Ricardo Canales from Motagua.

Forwards are Walter Martinez from Marathon, Carlos Pavon from Real Espana, Georgie Welcome from Motagua and David Suazo from Genoa.

Defenders for Honduras are Osman Chavez from Platense, Mauricio Sabillon from Hangzhou Lucheng, Johnny Palacios from Olimpia, Emilio Izaguirre from Motagua, Sergio Mendoza from Motagua, Oscar Garcia from Olimpia, Maynor Figueroa from Wigan and Victor Bernardez from Anderlecht.

Midfielders are Danilo Turcios from Olimpia, Hendry Thomas from Wigan, Wilson Palacios from Tottenham, Ramon Nunez from Olimpia, Amado Guevara from Motagua, Roger Espinoza from Kansas City Wizards, Julio Cesar de Leon from Torino and Edgard Alvarez from Bari.

Chile’s preliminary roster is as follows:

Chile goalkeepers include Luis Marin from Union Espanola, Miguel Pinto from Universidad de Chile and Claudio Bravo from Real Sociedad.

Forwards include Jaime Valdes from Atalanta, Esteban Paredes from Colo Colo, Hector Mancilla from Toluca, Fabian Orellana from Xerez, Mark Gonzalez from CSKA, Alexis Sanchez from Udinese and Humberto Suazo from Real Zaragoza.

Defenders for Chile include Roberto Cereceda from Colo Colo, Ismael Fuentes from Universidad Catolica, Pablo Contreras from PAOK Salonica, Gary Medel from Boca Juniors, Arturo Vidal from Bayer Leverkusen, Mauricio Isla from Udinese, Gonzalo Jara from West Bromwich Albion and Waldo Ponce from Universidad Catolica.

Chile midfielders include Rodrigo Tello from Besiktas, Manuel Iturra from Universidad de Chile, Charles Aranguiz from Colo Colo, Gonzalo Fierro from Flamengo, Jean Beausejour from America/Mexico, Matias Fernandez from Sporting Lisbon, Jose Pedro Fuenzalida from Colo Colo, Jorge Valdivia from Al Ain, Pedro Morales from Dynamo Zagreb, Rodrigo Millar from Colo Colo, Carlos Carmona from Reggina and Marco Estrada from Universidad de Chile.
