Wednesday MLB Preview and Odds
We are well into baseball season and MLB betting is very popular right now. Bwin online sportsbook have odds available for some of the games taking place on Wednesday. Below, you’ll see those odds as well as pitching matchups for each game and how the lineup has fared against the pitcher.
Los Angeles Dodgers 2.00 at Florida Marlins 1.83
RHP Chad Billingsley will step on the mound for the Dodgers. He is 2-1 with a 4.46 ERA and has an impressive 30 strikeouts for the season. His last time out he allowed just two runs on seven hits over 6.1 innings. He had a great team to back up up as the final score was 12-2 – a win for the Dodgers.
There isn’t a lot of experience here between the Marlins and Billingsley. Wes Helms is 1-for-3, Omar Infante is 2-for-6 with a triple, Hanley Ramirez is 2-for-11 with a home run and one RBI and Greg Dobbs is 0-for-3.
RHP Anibal Sanchez is on the mound for the Marlins. He is 1-1 with an earned run average of 3.85 for the season. He also has 30 strikeouts this season so far. His last time out, he pitched all nine innings and allowed just a single hit that resulted in a run and got the decision.
There are only a few Dogers that have gotten hits in against Sanchez. Tony Gwynn is 2-for-4, James Loney is 2-for-5 as is Rod Barajas and Matt Kemp is 1-for-3.
Colorado Rockies 1.67 at Chicago Cubs 2.25
RHP Jhoulys Chacin will start on the mound for the Colorado Rockies. He is 3-1 for the season with an earned run average of 2.67 and has 18 strikeouts. Two of his games this season have resulted in no runs but his last time out, he allowed four runs on seven hits over five innings.
The Cubs have hit decent off Chacin. Kosuke Fukudome is 2-for-3 with one homer and two RBIs, Aramis Ramirez is 3-for-6, Tyler Colvin is 2-for-6 with one RBI, Reed Johnson is 2-for-6, and Carlos Pena is 1-for-3.
RHP Casey Coleman will get the start for the Cubs. He is 1-1 with an unimpressive 7.43 ERA and has nine strikeouts for the season. His last time out, he struggled allowing six runs on six hits in just 2.2 innings.
The Rockies haven’t been up against Coleman too much and only three players have gotten a hit off him. Troy Tulowitzki is 1-for-3 with a triple, Seth Smith is 1-for-2 with a RBI and Dexter Fowler is 1-for-2 with a double.
Atlanta Braves 1.91 at San Diego Padres 1.91
RHP Tommy Hansen will start for the Braves Tuesday. He is 2-3 with a 3.21 ERA. He has 24 strikeouts on the season. His last time out he allowed just one run on three hits over seven innings. For the season he has allowed 11 runs on 24 hits over 28 innings.
Against Hansen, Orlando Hudson is 1-for-2, Cameron Maybin is 3-for-7 with a homer and two RBIs, Jorge Cantu is 3-for-8 with three RBIs, Chase Headley is 3-for-8 with a double and a triple and Alberto Gonzalez is 2-for-6 with a double.
RHP Mat Latos starts on the hill for the Padres. He is 0-3 with a 5.94 earned run average. He has 20 strikeouts for the season. His year hasn’t been the best. He has allowed at least three runs in each of his three outings this season and received the decision in all three. His last time out he allowed three runs on four hits over 4.1 innings.
Against the right-handed pitcher, Jason Heyward is 1-for-2 with a RBI, Alex Gonzalez is 2-for-5 with a RBI, Dan Uggla is 2-for-6 with a RBI, Martin Prado is 3-for-9 with a home run and a RBI and Nate McLouth is 1-for-3.
Philadelphia Phillies 1.59 at Arizona Diamondbacks 2.40
LHP Cole Hamels gets the start for the Phillies. He is 2-1 this season with a 2.92 ERA and 26 strikeouts. His last time out, he pitched eight shutout innings while allowing four hits. He threw eight strikeouts and allowed three walks.
Against Hamels, Justin Upton is 4-for-9, Melvin Mora is 2-for-6, and Stephen Drew is 4-for-13. Ryan Roberts and Kelly Johnson each have a homer off Hamels. Johnson, Drew and Roberts all have at least one RBI.
LHP Joe Saunders gets the ball for the Diamondbacks. He is 0-2 with a 4.98 ERA and just 10 strikeouts for the season. HIs last time out, he allowed one run on two hits over 6 innings while walking three and striking out four. The time before, he allowed five runs on 12 hits over 6.2 innings. His second start of the season, although the club won, he allowed five runs on six hits over just three innings. He has struggled some this season but looking at his last outing, he’s getting on track.
Against Saunders, Wilson Valdez is 2-for-3, Ben Francisco is 4-for-8, Raul Ibanez is 8-for-23 with two homers and six RBIs and Carlos Ruiz is 1-for-3 with a RBI.
