NFL Sues the State of Delaware

The NFL is not very happy with the state of Delaware at the moment. Delaware is being sued by the lawyers of the NFL. Not only are they being sued but they are being sued on three different accounts. Delaware could be in a lot of trouble if they lose this one because they have been in court a few times recently about other things in which they have lost.

At the current time, the state of Delaware is watching their money and undergoing a crisis with their budget. Gambling might help the state as people put in a lot of money, but on the other hand, it might hurt the state with the most recent lawsuits. The NFL feels that when they gamble, they aren’t even focusing on the game and that people start thinking that it is all about the money and lose what the real meaning is.

Not only is the NFL concerned about the way Delaware handles things but if other states pick up on this, they are worried about what the results might be. Not only that, if something happens to the team that someone places a bet on and they lose a lot of money, it could really have an effect on that person and not only would it have an effect on that person but it could even have an effect on the state depending on how much money they have risked and how much they have lost.

Everyone knows that the NFL does not like gambling and they do not approve of it. They get irritated and angry when someone goes against their wishes. They will do whatever it takes to show them that gambling is wrong and not wanted within the NFL. They put in masses of effort just so they will make everyone else nervous and make sure that they will not act on it anymore.

New Jersey at first did not want to do sports betting until they saw how much money the state of Delaware was getting from it. Now, though, they might reconsider it by getting involved in the sports betting and that is exactly the fear that the NFL had. So, the NFL will make sure that they stay on top of Delaware and they are hoping that their efforts will pay off and that the state of New Jersey will not go into sports betting like Delaware has. If New Jersey goes into it, other states are sure to follow and the NFL is definitely not pleased about that type of potential situation.

Another thing that will continue to haunt the NFL is if other states start following the laws of Delaware, should they be sued just as much and would the courts listen to the NFL or would they listen to the states?

This could get very tricky for the court as they will have a tough decision between the states and the NFL. Many say that the NFL either is unaware or denies all of the gambling that takes place concerning the NFL and others feel that the NFL comes against it because it helps gain media attention, which obviously they would be interested in. I guess we can all feel a little bit sorry for the judge that takes this case. That judge could make or break history with whatever he decides.  We’ll just have to wait and see and see how it spans out.
