Notre Dame Must Pick It Up or Coach Charlie Weis Might Lose His Career

Coach Charlie Weis must make it this season or else his reputation will suffer, and many people will not be betting on the team he coaches. Still, a lot of people have faith in the Fighting Irish, regardless of how Charlie Weis coaches.  They take great pride in how the Fighting Irish play, and they’ll stick with them no matter what..

Jimmy Clausen is really proving himself with the team because he has started off playing in 22 games. Many fans say that the junior quarterback knows what he is doing and they say he has great talent. Some counter that he doesn’t have that much talent because out of the games that Jimmy Clausen has started, the team has won only ten out of 25. They feel that such a dismal record is not good enough. That is another reason why Coach Weis’s  career might be finished if he does not pick it up.

Jimmy Clausen was behind Brady Quinn and played his best during sophomore year. He made history during that season by coming in third with his profile. Out of 440 passes thrown, he completed 268 of them, for a completion rate of about 60.9 percent. He also scored an incredible 25 touchdowns. Jimmy Clausen’s talent and fame spread quickly and he started gaining a lot of peoples’ confidence.

Since he started playing with Notre Dame, his talents have suffered some under Coach Charlie Weis, and fans claim he has gone downhill under Weis’s coaching. For this reason, some people have refused to bet while Coach Weis is still at Notre Dame, because they are unsure of how he will do this year. When they played last year, they played somewhat better, but they still didn’t play as good as they could have. They want to see Jimmy Clausen playing again like he did in his sophomore year, and they are hoping that this year, Coach Weis will bring out the best in Jimmy Clausen. If Jimmy Clausen continues to go downhill, the fans will be blaming Coach Weis and not Jimmy Clausen, and they will be demanding a change for the team.

Armando Allen will be serving as the tailback this year and there will be 10 starters that will be playing on the offensive side of the ball, four of whom are seniors..  People are thrilled that Armando Allen will be serving as one of the tailbacks this year, and because of that, some of their faith has been renewed a little bit in regards to Coach Weis.

Fans are claiming that Coach Weis has a very thin defense team this year but they are very happy with the line backing core because it is a very strong one. This year they will also be playing the 3-4 and not the 4-3, so the strong line backing core could actually work in Coach Weis’s favor under the new formation. We can only hope that the switch will be enough to save Coach Weis career and that it has a positive influence on the team. Coach Weis still has fans, and they really hope that he turns things around because they will be angry and hurt if something happens to his career. His coaching is another reason why some people bet on the team.
