Quakes Host a Huge Children’s Event
Children and sports are two things that just seem to go hand in hand no matter what kind of sport it is. Parents in San Jose, California were able to let their kids have a recent night out with their local soccer team, the San Jose Earthquakes. The team did not host this event alone. Lots of companies helped them with the event. The ones that helped them with this event include San Jose Councilwoman Nancy Pyle, Elder and Company, Footwear Etc, John Muskivitch and Family, MVP Arena, Thao Tran and Amato’s Cheesesteaks, and Air Systems Inc. Foundation. Other partners that teamed up with them for the event included the community season full partners. A couple of those are Honda of Stevens Creek, Soccer Pro, BAE Systems, Hewlett Packard, and Soccer Hype
The event happened at Buck Shaw Stadium. Everyone was shocked at how many children actually attended. They were prepared for a huge turnout but they didn’t expect this many. Over 5,000 kids turned out for this event at Buck Shaw Stadium. The children showed support and devotion towards the quakes that night. It was a wonderful night for everyone. The quakes also gained new fans that night, and some of the adults remarked that they would make sure that they bet on the Quakes from now on. Needless to say, the Quakes gained loyal fans when they hosted this event.
At this event, there were even some beneficiaries in attendance from those that helped donate towards the game. Some of the beneficiaries that attended included: Boys and Girls Clubs, Catholic Charities, Alum Rock Youth Soccer League, Lulac, Willow Soccer League, Bill Wilson Center, KIPP Heartwood Academy, National Hispanic University, and Santa Clara Unified School District.
Some of the teams that compete with the Quakes are now feeling really pressured and surprised by how many people showed up. They are heartbroken because they know that some of their fans have now crossed over to the quakes. They are hoping that in time they can prove themselves again, and they will be able to get their fans back. However, they have a long way to go before that happens.
So many people, from the sponsors to the players, were blown away by the success of the event. The children will be talking about this night for a very long time and bragging to their friends about it. This event has also created more soccer awareness, which is really needed at this time. Children should be encouraged to play soccer, and not enough parents really spend enough time talking with their kids about this exciting and educational game. Hopefully, this event will spark a new generation of soccer players, and the kids will now start improving in school, so they can attend college and play soccer when they grow up. Children are smart. If they start playing soccer while they are young, they are sure to get the hang of it.
The quakes are now trying their hardest during practice just so they can continue showing a positive influence to their new and old fans. They always played great but now they have more of a reason.
