To no surprise, the odds for which team will win the 2011 NBA Finals is none other than the Miami Heat. The Miami Heat signed three of the hottest free agents on the market this offseason – Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, and LeBron James. James took his time deciding what to do even though the trio had made their contracts work out for them all to become free agents at the exact same time to have the possibility of playing together on the game team in the NBA. The dream came true after months of speculation of where James was going when he decided to choose the Heat as his new NBA team.

Per Bwin.com, the Miami Heat have 2.50 odds to win the NBA Finals even though they haven’t won a title since back in 2006. The only major concern with the Heat is that they used majority of their cap to get the trio so if one of them gets injured this season, there likely won’t be enough depth and skill on the bench to cover the skill of one of the three.

The Los Angeles Lakers are the next NBA team to beat with 4.75 odds on Bwin.com. In franchise history, the Lakers have 17 world championships and have secured the past two NBA titles. The Lakers have a very solid and skilled team all the way around with players like Kobe Bryant as well as Pau Gasol. Other essential players to the Lakers include Andrew Bynum, Derek Fisher, Ron Artest, and more. Coach Phil Jackson has 11 NBA Titles to his name (or team) and when he has led his team to win two NBA titles, the third just drops in his lap.

The Orlando Magic are considered the third favorite NBA team to win the 2011 NBA Finals with 11.00 odds. In franchise history for the second time, the Magic reached the NBA Finals in 2009. This season in the Eastern Conference finals, Boston beat them out for the advance. Orlando still has skilled key role player Dwight Howard as well as players Jameer Nelson and Rashard Lewis so they have the ability to play ball with the Miami Heat.

The Boston Celtics are at 12.00 odds to win the 2011 NBA Finals. The Celtics have 17 world championships to their name in addition to the NBA Finals title from 2008. Boston reached the NBA Finals this year but came up short in the seven games against the Los Angeles Lakers. As with the other three teams, the Boston Celtics have a strong and skilled starting team including Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo, and Paul Pierce. Although the Celtics have lost a key player to retirement (Rasheed Wallace), Boston has replaced him with newly signed Jermaine O’Neal.

In these two texts, I will give you my best bettingtips from the two quarterfinals in the World cup of football that is played on Saturday.

I will start to give you all my best bettingtips in the game between Argentina vs Spain and then follow that up with my best tips from Paraguay vs Spain. I have choose to pick the odds from bwin bet on world cup and one of the reasons that I do that is because they have the biggest offer in different odds and betting opportunities of all the betting sites.

There are over 300 different betting opportunities at bwin, which can be compared with most of the sites that offers about 100 different bets per match.

Paraguay vs. Spain, odds: Paraguay to win, odds: 8.00, draw odds: 4.50, Spain to win, odds: 1.40

My bettingtips:

Paraguay vs. Spain – Spain to win @ 1.40

Paraguay has never been in a quarterfinal in the World cup’s history before so this is a very big game for them. But the fact is that Spain never have been further then a quarterfinal before either, which can be hard to think compared to the team that Spain has, and have got for a long time.

I think that the fact that Spain did so well in the European Championship two years ago (when they won the Gold medal) has helped them a lot in this World cup.

It started as it often do for Spain in World cup, they lost against Switzerland with 1 – 0. When that happened, I am pretty sure that most of the Spaniards thought something like “Not this time as well”. Because Spain was, the biggest favourites to win the World cup according to the odds before the championship started and that even thought they have never been in a semi-final before.

Nevertheless, after their loss against Switzerland they came back strongly and won against both Honduras and Chile (2 – 0 and 2 – 1) which took them trough to the second round. In the first match of the second round they played against their neighbours Portugal in a great game where Portugal seemed to bee the strongest team but where Spain made a substitution and that changed the game. Spain won with 1 – 0 after that David Villa (who else?) scored his fourth goal of the tournament.

Paraguay has been doing very well and has only let one goal in so far. They started with 1 – 1 against the former trophy holders Italy and after that they won against Slovakia with 2 – 0. In their last group match they played 0 – 0 against New Zeeland, but in that game they where not forced to win. In the second round they was headed against Japan and won after penalties (0 – 0 after ordinary time).

So none of these teams as impressed that much so far, but still one of the teams will go to the semi-finals. My feeling is that Spain is growing as they are going further and that they have good opportunities to win this game. I do not think that it will be an easy game but I still think that Spain is too good for Paraguay. Actually I would say that the odds on a Spanish win is a bit too low to bet on if it would had been a group-game or friendly, but now when it is a quarterfinal I have a feeling that the Spanish world-class-players will improve their game and win.

Paraguay vs. Spain, correct result: 0 – 1 @ 5.20 in odds

It’s not often that I place a bettingtips on correct result, but this time I have a strong feeling that this game can end 1 – 0 for Spain. I had the same feeling in their game against Portugal, but this time I am going to place a bet on that as well.

As I wrote above, these two teams have not been scoring too many goals forward. In addition, Paraguay has shown a strong defensively strength and I am pretty sure that they will try to hold up 0 – 0 as long as they can. Almost all of the Spanish players are playing in Spanish league for some of the top clubs, and if they come up to a normal standard, at least one of these players should be able to score eventually. Spain has David Villa, Fernando Torres, Xavi, Xabi Alonso, Cesc Fabregas, Fernando Ilorente, Andres Iniesta and the question is for how long time Paraguay can stand up with their defensive line.

I choose to bet the result 0 – 1 to Spain since I think this will be a tight game in the beginning and that Spain will score in the second half. And when/if they do, they are one of the best nations in the world to pass the ball. If you choose to bet on 0 – 1 result for Spain and that is the standing late in the game I can even recommend you to keep an eye on the livebetting. It might being worth to hedge that bet if you have a high stake since the odds is over 5.00.

My best bettingtips from Argentina vs Germany follows in the next text

This year’s biggest sports event is coming close. I am of course talking about footballs world cup, which starts in 11th of June. I love world cup and it is something special for all football lovers. There are always lots of betting opportunities and many odds on each match. And it doesn’t matter which teams that are playing against each other, World cup is World cup!

My bettingtips on the matches / games will be presented during the tourney, but before it starts, I will give you my best bettingtips on some of the long time bets like winners, top goal scorer, grope winners, to go trough and so on.

In these two texts, I will present my best tips on Top Goal Scorers and the Winners of whole World Cup. It would be too much info to present the odds of all the teams and players for you, so if you are interested to see where all the nations and players stand in odds I recommend you to visit a betting site. I will give you the best odds from bwin football world cup odds and will present a couple of potential winners and the odds for these teams / players. These odds and tips are either what I believe on or even some underdogs that pays too much according to the odds. Normally I only recommend you to bet on odds value but World Cup of football is special and very often the pre favours go far. Therefore, in some cases, it is “okey” to bet on picks and not only stare blind on value (but of course, the odds play a part in that as well).

I have about five options each for the Gold winner and top goal scorer and will start with my winner of the tournament and give you short analysis on why I bet as I do.

Winning the World cup of football 2010:

Argentina 7.00

England 8.00

Holland 11.00

USA 81.00

Argentina, odds: 7.00

Argentina for sure has the best attacking players in the world. Lionel Messi is obvious in the starting line, but behind him we have players like Gonzalo Higuain, Carlos Tevez, Sergio “Kün” Aguerro, Diego Milito and Martin Palermo and so on. I am sure there is non other team where a player like Milito would not be obvious in a start-up. But in Argentina’s squad he is probably only no 5 which is totally insane.

Even behind their attackers, they have world-class players in the squad and Argentina would probably be the biggest favourite to win world cup if it wasn’t because the controversial coach Maradona. Many experts think that Maradona will be their fall but I do not actually agree. I am sure that they can go all the way and win the gold medal, not thanks to Maradona, but because they have a strong team. They are my biggest favourites to win and a good bettingtips since they pay as much as 7.00 in odds.

England, odds: 8.00

Finally, this can be England’s year. Their supporter always claim that they are the best team in the world but this time I think that they can win World cup even without being the best team in the world. Fabio Capello is a great manager and with his tactical skills, you do not have to have the best squad. His biggest problem is who to put between the posts. They do not have an obvious goalkeeper, but I still think that England can go far. England pays 8.00 in odds and its worth a shot this time (I have never bet on England to win a world cup before, and since I wasn’t born 1966 I have spared money on that).

Holland, odds: 11.00

The concept “Total Football” is Holland’s own brandmark. They always play a fantastic football to watch. However, their biggest problem has always been that when it comes to quarterfinals or semi finals they cannot beat the tactical skilled teams like Italy, Germany or France.

I always hope for Holland to win because I love football and I belive that if they can show that their way of play is the best way even other nations and clubs will try to play on the same way.

This year they only have two potential top-scorers in the squad (Van Persie and Huntelaar), but they have a strong midfield and defensive line as well. So Holland can defiantly go whole the way to the finals and win world cup if they only can switch their attacking play to a more tactical play later in the tournament, 11.00 in odds is interesting and I recommend them aswell as a bettingtips.

USA, odds: 81.00

I just have to give you one bettingtips on a bigger underdog aswell and USA is a team that can go really far in world cup. They have built their “soccer” nation for a long time now and it seems that they can compete with the best teams soon.

Last year they played very well in the confederations cup and reached the finals. In addition, for their advantage it looks like many Americans will follow their team in South Africa this year, something that has been rare for them in world cups.

When I see that USA pays as much as 81.00 in odds, I just have to put a small bet on them.

Good Luck with picking your own world cup-betting winner

These are the recommendations for the top scorer for World Cup (odds from bwin world cup football betting):

Lionel Messi (ARG), odds: 8.00

Wayne Rooney (ENG), odds: 8.50

Gonzalo Higuain (ARG), odds: 17.00

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (NED), odds: 51.00

Humberto Suazo (CHI), odds: 101.00

As you can notice, the most of the players that I recommend here are from nations that I think will go far in the whole tournament as well. Because there is often a connection between teams going far and players who wins the scoring table. Here are my thoughts for my picks:

Lionel Messi (ARG), odds: 8.00

There are many warnings from experts that Argentina will be one of World cup’s biggest flops this year and most of them believe that their coach, Diego Maradona, is the reason for that. I can agree on the part that Maradona probably isn’t the best coach in my thoughts either but I still think that Argentina has a strong team and can go far with Maradona as coach.

Argentina has the best attacking players in the world and no matter how Maradona choose to play their attacking tactics there will be top class players that have to sit on the bench and follow the tourney from the side.

Lionel Messi will for sure play if he is not injured because he is the best player in the world right now. But it will be a tug of war which players will play together with him. Messi the type of player who can do the things that Maradona did for 24 years ago. He can dribble trough 5 – 6 players and score him self. If Maradona plays Messi at top, he is defiantly a player that will score many goals and 8.00 in odds for him to become top scorer is a god bet according to me.

Gonzalo Higuain (ARG), odds: 17.00

Gonzalo Higuain is another player from Argentina that I think has the opportunities to score a lot in this tourney if he gets the chance to play. In addition, it looks like he will be their second alternative together with Messi in this tourney.

The Real Madrid forward has played very well in the Spanish league and scored a lot as well.

If Messi plays behind the attacking line or he plays just behind the striker Gonzalo Higuain, there is a big chance that Higuain will become the top scorer of World Cup.

Wayne Rooney (ENG), odds: 8.50

Together with Argentina, England is one of the teams that I think can go far in this tournament. The Englishmen them self’s always think that they will win the world cup every forth year, but I think that they think too much of their chances every so often.

But this year I really think that England can go all the way to the Final and one of the biggest reasons for me to believe on them is their coach, Fabio Capello. Capello is one of the three – four best tactical coaches in the world according to me (another one is Inter Milan’s manager Jose Mourinho) and he has shown in both the world cup qualification and in their friendly games that he has something big coming up this summer.

And if England goes far in they tourney, I am pretty sure that Wayne Rooney will score a lot. He has taken a big responsibility in Manchester United this year, after that Christiano Ronaldo left, and shown that he is a great goal scorer as well.

He will carry whole England on his shoulder and I am sure that he, despite his young age, will do that more then good.

Rooney pays 8.50 in odds and is a potential winner, a god bet according to me aswell.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (NED), odds: 51.00

I often believe in Holland to go far and they often do. Holland often plays the most attractive football and they have great supporters following their orange heroes. However, their biggest problem so far has been when it comes to tight and tough games in the knock out stage. It always feels like their game from the group stage collapses and it suddenly stops there.

However, Holland is a team that scores a lot offensive. This year they do not have a given striker in the team besides Van Persie and that is why I think that Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will fill that hole.

It surprises me that Huntelaar pays as much as 51.00 in odds and I defiantly hold him as an underdog that can explode in this tourney after a bad season with Milan.

A good bettingtips according to the odds and it at least worth a small bet.

Humberto Suazo (CHI), odds: 101.00

Suazo is most likely the player who is most unknown of the five representatives that I bet on as top scorer of world cup. But his nation, Chile, can become a big surprise in this tourney and then Humberto Suazo is big scorer.

Chile plays one of the most positive football in South America at the moment and sometimes it almost feels like their manager prefer to play with a formation 4 – 2 – 4.

I know that it is a long shot that Suazo will go all the way and win the title as top scorer, but at the same time he pays over one hundred in odds and that is really interesting since his team plays such an offensive football. Why not bet a small bet on him aswell, it will not cost that much but the winnings will be very high.

/Good Luck with your world cup betting

There are few scandals that have rocked a sport more than the John Higgins betting scandal in Snooker. In Cricket I can remember the big Hansie Cronje scandal a few years ago and the ex-Liverpool goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar was caught taking bribes a few years back. Then we had Ferdy Murphy in the world of Horse Racing. But betting has moved on and the type of cheating has moved on.

These days with in play markets and live betting then there is simply no need to throw entire matches by losing them or fixing match scores. These days there is so much in play action that simply throwing one single frame can mean huge swings in profit or loss for bookmakers. In play betting now is very big business and probably will only get bigger. But there is simply no way that you can ever prove this type of cheating in actual play.

If a top player wanted to throw a frame of Snooker at a key moment then it would be ridiculously easy to do so. The standard of Snooker is so high now that any slight error would lead to at least a break of between 40-70 and these are often frame winning scores. It simply isn’t possible to detect that a player missed a ball on purpose. The thing is that at the start of the frame, the player does not put himself into the situation where he has to miss a simple shot.

But then again you don’t even have to miss a ball for a break to come to an end. Simply losing position on the next shot could be all it takes but if a player is looking to throw a frame then there is every chance that his opponent might just win that frame on merit and this means that his opponent didn’t even have to do anything at all to win that frame. The closer it gets to the end of the match then the more violent will be the fluctuations with regards to the price movements in play.

We are now entering a whole new world of cheating and when WPBSA chairman Barry Hearn stated that he had every intention of wiping out this “disease” then I really do wish him the best of luck because he is going to need it. There is literally no chance that he could ever hope to eliminate all forms of cheating. Players even have the opportunity to lay themselves in play with the use of an accomplice at key stages of matches without even getting a third party like a bookmaker involved at all.

So the chances of finding every single cheating player are simply too high to contemplate. It is simply not possible to keep the world of gambling and bookmaking and the actual playing of the sport or game apart indefinitely. This is the way of the world and it is here to stay and the advancement of the online betting world has made this so. As a stop press, I cannot wait for the Champions League final and my money is certainly on Inter Milan and Champions League football betting will probably not be as high this season with regards to English people seeing as there is no British interest in the final for the first time since 2004…….But Mourinho should provide some interest.

The world cup finals in South Africa will soon be upon us and will provide sports-fans with a festival of competitive football, providing bettors with some mouth-watering chances to pit their tactical acumen in one of the biggest global sporting tournaments of all. The draws have all been done and the teams know whom they will face in the group stages, so just what has this done to affect team odds?

Let’s take a closer look at another of the teams from Group D, Serbia. According to their coach, Radomir Antic, they have a realistic chance to progress, despite the fact that they are in one of the toughest groups: “All of our group rivals are top quality sides, and all have a number of outstanding individual players, but I do believe that we have a genuine opportunity of getting through to the last 16.

The Serbians are coming into these World Cup finals for the very first time as a fully-fledged independent nation, although they are certainly no strangers to global tournament action. They were previously known as Yugoslavia all the way up until 2003, and afterwards, until 2006, as Serbia and Montenegro. They have played in nine World Cup finals between 1930 and 2002 and have twice finished in second place in two European championships.

Serbia have a current FIFA world ranking of 20, and their current odds to win the upcoming world cup are +7000. Their first game as an independent nation was in August 2006 and they beat the Czech Republic 3-1 away. They have plenty of experience, though none more so that their coach who has previously coached Real Madrid, Real Zaragoza, Athletico Madrid and Barcelona, so he will not be fazed when the pressure games come around and this will definitely benefit his players and help the team’s odds. The side also has plenty of talented youngsters who bookmakers feel will have a lot to prove come June.

Serbia’s recent run of success has, like the Australia’s, been built around a powerful defensive unit, anchored by Manchester United star Nemanja Vidic. He is joined by Chelsea’s Ivanovic, and they are joined by Inter Midfielder Dejan Stankovic who will be coming off of an excellent season, where his team is close to securing both the Italian league title and the UEFA Champions League. In qualification rounds, Serbia finished top of Group 7 ahead of France, although bookies agree that they will have their work cut out to advance from the group stage.

Every four years the UK public goes to the ballot box to decide which party leads the government for the next Parliamentary term. The battle lines are being drawn up as we speak in the campaign leading up to the election on May 6th. There are numerous betting opportunities available for those wishing to have a bet on Politics, here are my thoughts on what the best bets are right now, using betting odds from bwin.

Voting Percentage Turnout

60.00 or less – 9/4
60.01 – 65.00 – 37/20
65.01 – 70.00 – 13/4
70.01 – 75.00 – 4/1
75.01 – 80.00 – 12/1

In the 2005 general election voter turn-out was 61.4%. Considering there has been the expenses scandal and numerous other political scandals it is up to you to judge whether this will drive people away from the ballot box because of distrust of politicians or bring people back to the ballot box to vote for a change or have their say in who leads us into 2011 and beyond.

Unfortunately in this country many people are apathetic towards politics so I do not think there will be a massive drop in the voting turnout. I must, however, assume that as it is usually the older generation who vote, many of whom will have died since 2005; the younger generation not being motivated to vote suggests to me that the sensible bet here would be the 9/4 on less than 60% of the voting population actually voting.

I do not think there will be a major change in turn-out, but if there is a change I believe it will be downwards.

Party with the most Seats

Conservative Party – 3/25
Labour Party – 9/2
Liberal Democrats – 100/1

You can remove the Lib Dems from the market as they will probably do slightly better than in 2005 but they will not win the most seats. Labour currently has 356 seats to the Conservatives 198, but every newspaper report and commentators view suggests that there is likely to be a big vote for change at this election. The sensible bet is on the Conservatives getting the most seats and the polls suggest that they will be very close to getting an overall majority. The election is certainly still in the balance, however, so watch the news closely for developments, especially in regards to the support for David Cameron.

Overall Majority

Yes – 1/2
No – 7/5

The Conservatives need the biggest swing since 1945 in order to gain even the smallest full majority. The jury is still out on the leadership team of David Cameron and George Osborne as to whether they can lead the UK out of the biggest recession in living memory. Labour, however, whilst pointing this out has had thirteen years in power and it is hard for them to promise change when they have had so long to deliver change already. Labour still believes they can get a majority and the country has a history of defying the polls. In my view, a hung Parliament at 7/5 seems a good bet as this election is so finely in the balance. Every vote counts, so make sure you make yours on May 6th!

The newspapers and TV cover the election campaign extensively so you have plenty of daily news to read about to work out your best bets. Bear in mind that the newspapers will usually have an allegiance to one party or the other so you will need to make up your mind what the objective reports are. Get your bets on early just in case the result starts to look obvious.

Please note the odds are correct as of April 12th 2010 and are subject to change at anytime by bwin.com.

March madness continues. It’s the second week of the NCAA tournament, and Round 3 tips off Thursday night. There have been the requisite few upsets this year as in so many others, but as you prepare to place your bet on the Sweet Sixteen this year, there are some trends to watch that can help you win big.

By this point, most of the “Cinderella” teams have been sent packing, but there are still a couple lurking about. This year, we have twelve-seeded Cornell, who will play Kentucky and is getting 8 points from BroburySports.com. Number 10 seed St. Mary’s of California looks to upset the pack. They meet Baylor, a 3 seed, in the South regional. Nine-seed Northern Iowa, who upset Kansas, a presumed final-four contender, will play a diminished five-seeded Michigan State squad. Finally, Eleven-seed Washington will take on two-seeded West Virginia. Those are all the games in which a seed of nine or lower has a chance to upset one of the big boys – seeds of five or higher. There are still other possible upsets, such as number five Butler over the top-seed in the West, Syracuse.

Typically, underdogs have had their last gasp in the Sweet Sixteen but have given the favorite a good fight, coming within the spread a healthy amount of the time. Over the past nine years, favorites are only 28-39-5 against the spread. * Teams favored to win by 7 or more are 22-1 straight up, but that drops to a surprising 12-11 against the spread. Even though the stats bear out the money line, it’s never fun to plop down $500 and tear your hair out for a potential $100 win.

The numbers reveal that your best option might be to take the lower-seeded teams if they are favored or underdogs getting 3.5 points tops. Over the past nine years, those teams have been 16-10, straight up and 17-8-1 against the spread. These numbers tell us that the spread has only been a factor twice in these games.

As far as overs/unders are concerned, the under seems to do best in Sweet Sixteen play. In games with a total of 129 or less, the unders have taken it 8 times with the over coming in just once. This tells us that when the bookmakers are thinking it’s going to be a low-scoring battle, they’re generally right.

This year, St. Mary’s has been on a tear, and analysts and commentators are touting them as the team to watch. Not to be outdone, though, is Northern Iowa, who is looking to parley their upset of Kansas into an appearance in the Elite Eight with a win over a Michigan State team whose top scorer is out for the season. Moreover, closer to the top, you have Butler taking a 22-game winning streak into their battle with the Orangemen of Syracuse. Pay special attention to Northern Iowa versus Michigan State, as State is clearly vulnerable without their top scoring threat.

Remember, history can only guide you so much when making picks in the “Big Dance.” At the same time, though, these trends clearly suggest betting strategies, which have a good chance of bringing you success.

If you are a Twins fan, you can get off the edge of your seat now. Red Sox and Yankees – you can just give up hope! Why? Simply, because, Joe Mauer is staying with the Twins and does not plan on going to any other team in the foreseeable future. This means that he won’t be entitled to free agency this coming fall; therefore, he cannot sign with another team including the Yankees and Red Sox.

Twins fans have all been waiting to hear whether or not Mauer was leaving the team and on Sunday, they finally heard the news they had all been waiting for and thankfully, it was good news! The Twins and Mauer reached an agreement for an eight-year extension at $184 million.

Joltin’ Joe was born and raised in St. Paul while becoming a high school legend. He was the first 2001 draft pick and grew to become the AL’s (American League) Most Valuable Player.

It is being said that if Mauer had become available on the open market this fall that there could have been deals worth about $30 million on a yearly basis. It has also been implied that if Mauer wasn’t resigned with the Twins before opening season that he would become harder and harder to sign the further the season went on. Whether or not this is true remains to be seen, or the truth in regards to this may never come out.

$30 million per year would have been good if he had made it to open market, but his current agreement with the Twins isn’t all that bad either. This particular deal between the catcher and the Twins will pay $23 million to Mauer each year between the years of 2011 and 2018. In addition, this agreement also holds Mauer to the Twins team without having the ability to be traded without his authorization throughout the term of his contract.

The $23 million seems pretty good seeing as how in the first six years of major league play, he has only made a grand total of about $21.5 million. So, I’d say that this young catcher, who turns 27 next month, has it pretty much set for him. When his contract is up with the Twins, he will have reached age 35 and every single penny of this agreement is guaranteed.

Moreover, he has had quite some success in his baseball career thus far, which will only grow within the next eight years of contract with the Twins. He currently is a three-time All-Star, has three American League batting titles (and until Joe Mauer, no other catcher had been able to even achieve one!), as well as two Gold Glove Awards that he received consecutively for being the best defensive player in his position in the league. He has also been voted the Fan-Friendliest Athlete in America.

Once this deal is made official, he will become tied for second in the highest paid baseball players. He will be tied with CC Sabathia, the Yankees pitcher, who also makes $23 million on a yearly basis and will come behind Alex Rodriguez of the Yankees who currently is making $27.5 million in his 10-year contract deal.

This deal between the Twins and Mauer is planned to be made official with the signing of the agreement in Fort Myers this evening at 6 p.m. CDT at a news conference.
