Most of the teams in Premier League have played 25 or 26 matches before the coming round for this weekend and it means that we have reached two third of the league. Now the last third round starts for most of the teams (Birmingham has only played 24 games), and the part of the league where everything is going to be decided. Which team will win the trophy, which teams will play in Champions League / Europe League and which three teams will be relegated to the championship?

This year’s Premier League has been the most interesting season in several years, since all the teams still have anything to play for. No team has run away from the rest of the teams in the top of the table and all of the teams in the bottom of the table still have the chance to avoid relegation.

In these two texts I will give you my best bettingtips for the coming round. As I do sometimes I have chosen to split the text into two different posts since there are lots of matches to go through. First I will give you all the matches with the odds and then I will give you my best bettingtips for each match in this round. I will also give you my analyzes on why I bet like I do. All the odds are picked from bwin football sportsbetting.

Here are the first three matches in this round with the odds on each of them:

Manchester United vs. Manchester City odds – home win: 1.72, draw: 3.50, away win: 4.40

Arsenal FC vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers odds – home win: 1.22, draw: 5.50, away win: 12.00

Birmingham FC vs. Stoke City odds – home win: 2.45, draw: 3.10, away win: 2.85

And now I will give you my best tips and the odds + analyze:

Manchester United vs. Manchester City, my bettingtips: away win @ 4.40 in odds

It was long time ago that I thought that Manchester City actually could beat Manchester United in their own theater of dreams. But this time at least think that they have a reasonable chance to do it. Do you remember the last game between these two teams here at Old Trafford? Craig Bellamy scored 3 – 3 for City in the 90th minute and everyone thought that the game was going to end with a draw. Even more when the announced four minutes where passed. But, somehow, Michael Owen managed to score 4 -3 to Manchester United when the clock stood on 95.30. You can call it furgie-time or whatever you want, but somehow this red machine manages to score these important goals.

That time the former united player and City-manager said that he understood why all the teams complained of all the advantages that Manchester United got while he was playing there but could not see from the same perspective.

What does this story actually have to do with my bet and bettingtips in this match? It’s as easy that City was almost close to win (or at least take one point) last year against Manchester United away. Now they have a stronger squad, are doing better in the league, and finally – they have a smarter manager. So I don’t think that this is a long shot. In addition to that, Manchester United lost their first league game in the last round against Wolverhampton away. I defiantly believe that Manchester city have the skills to disturb Sir Alex Ferguson’s team in this game and find the odds at 4.40 interesting on the away win in this derby.

Arsenal vs. Wolverhampton, my bettingtips: home win @ 1.22 in odds

Arsenal had the 0 – 4 lead away against Newcastle and everyone had counted in those three points for Arsenal. But in a strange way their game totally collapsed and Newcastle came closer and closer. Okay – it has to be said that Arsenal got an early red card in the beginning of the second half. And okay, Newcastle got two scores on Penalty. But it is still insane that Arsenal could “loose” two points that easy in the second half.

Because of that miss, I am pretty sure that Wolverhampton will pay the price in this game. Arsenal will win and they will do it comfortably. Even though Wolves took a strong win against Manchester United in the last round home at Mollineux, this is more or less mission impossible for them. I actually think that 1.22 in odds on Gunners is a pretty valuable odds, even though it’s not that high. I really think that Arsenal will win this game and place a bet on them. I would also recommend you to keep an eye on the special bets (halftime/fulltime or handicap) on Arsenal.

Birmingham FC vs. Stoke City, my bettingtips draw @ 3.10 in odds

This is a pretty hard match to predict. My feeling says that Birmingham should be favorites, which they are, but the statistics says that Stoke is in a good form at the moment. So this match can end in both directions. Or why not with a draw that both teams might be satisfied with?

I don’t find any other odds valuable to bet on, so my bettingtips on this game is a draw at 3.10 in odds.

In the next text I will give you my best bettingtips from the rest of the seven games in this round.

In the two following texts, I will present some special bets for you picked from bwin odds football sportsbetting.

This is bets before the Premier League starts and can be different type of bet/odds that is out at the market. For example, top goal scorer of premier league 2010 / 2011, which team will be relegated, different tips regarding which of two or three teams will end highest in the league and so on.

For every bettingtips that I recommend I will present some different odds for you as well. For example, top 20 – 30 favourites according to the odds for the top goal scorer of the year or maybe top 10 for the relegation. If you are curious about what the other odds is I recommend you to visit bwin.com/ (click you trough to premier league betting and click on what bets you want to see) and see for your self what the different odds are. If I would write down all the odds here, it would fill many pages.

Premier League 2010 / 2011 top goal scorer, odds:

Wayne Rooney, odds: 6.50

Didier Drogba, odds: 6.50

Fernando Torres, odds: 7.00

Robin Van Persie, odds: 12.00

Carlos Tevez, odds: 15.00

Jermain Defoe, odds: 19.00

Darren Bent , odds: 21.00

Marouane Chamakh, odds: 25.00

Nicolas Anelka, odds: 25.00

Steven Gerrard. odds: 31.00

Robinho, odds: 34.00

Emmanuel Adebayor, odds: 36.00

Andrei Arshavin, odds: 41.00

Javier Hernandez, odds: 41.00

Frank Lampard, odds: 41.00

Dimitar Berbatov, odds: 41.00

Cesc Fabregas, odds: 41.00

Louis Saha, odds: 51.00

Peter Crouch, odds: 51.00

John Carew, odds: 67.00

Nicklas Bendtner, odds: 67.00

Nikola Zigic, odds: 67.00

Salomon Kalou, odds: 67.00

Dirk Kuyt, odds: 67.00

Gabriel Agbonlahor, odds: 81.00

Nani, odds: 81.00

Theo Walcott, odds: 81.00

Roman Pavlyuchenko, odds: 81.00

Carlton Cole, odds: 81.00

Bobby Zamora, odds: 81.00

Here are my thoughts regarding the top goal scorer of Premier League 2010 / 2011:

I am pretty sure that we will find the winner of this title somewhere among these players. My first thought was to only present the top 20 favourites but then I realized that I would miss players like Agbonlahor, Walcott, Pavlyuchenko and these are players that defiantly are capable to win this price even thought the chances are small.

According to the odds that bwin’s traders have set, Wayne Rooney is favourite to become top goal scorer in Premier League, tightly followed by Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres. I am about to agree that these are the three players that should be favourites as well. Rooney (6.50 in odds) does most of Manchester United’s goals and he often plays most of the matches. Didier Drogba is supposed to score most of Chelsea’s goals even though Nicolas Anelka did it last year. Drogba takes most of the free kicks and is actually the sharpest striker.

Fernando Torres defiantly scores most in Liverpool, when he is not injured. I remember that Torres stood on 4.50 in odds before last years premier league started, but all his injury-problems probably has taken him down a bit on the odds-list.

All these three players have good possibilities to become top goal scorer in premier league this season, but the question is if its value in betting on them?

I have some other names down in the list, with way higher odds, that are interesting as well. You cannot forget a player who won last year and still is playing in the same team on the same position – Nicolas Anelka @ 25.00 in odds.

If a player like Robin Van Persie can stay away from injuries, he is defiantly a candidate for this title, 12.00 in odds on a bet on Van Persie feels interesting as well.

Since I think that Manchester City can bee one of the teams that will fight in the top of the table, at least one of their players should be mentioned in this list over potential good bets. For me it is clear that Carlos Tevez will be there best goal scorer.

A bit down on the odds list there are players like Berbatov @ 41.00 in odds, which seem interesting. I actually do not like Berbatov’s way of playing and his body language when he keeps whining as soon as he does not get the ball. But at the same time he has so much football inside of him and if the season starts well he might become a top corer. While we are talking about high odds players, I should mention Gabriel Agbonlahor, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Nani who all pays 81 in odds.

So, which player do I found most valuable to bet on? I would like to place a bet on more then one player. But my best bettingtips is:

Fernando Torres @ 7.00 in odds. If that guy can stay away from injuries he is the only goal scorer in Liverpool who is a sure scorer. All the other top teams have lots of potential goal scorers but Torres is the only striker in Liverpool (besides captain Gerrard).

If you want to gamble a bit and try a player with higher odds, I would recommend Berbatov @ 41.00 in odds or Louis Saha @ 51.00 in odds.

In next text, I will share some other special bets with you.

When David Haye beat Nikolai Valuev I was surprised. Personally I thought the judges in Valuevs adopted German home country would be sympathetic to his ongoing attack and punish Haye for what was a largely negative boxing performance, later attributed to a broken hand suffered when punching Valuev in the second round. Many UK Boxing betting fans went home happy after Haye became the first Britain since Lennox Lewis to win a recognised version of the World Heavyweight Boxing Championship belt.

David is brash and cocky and uses the press conferences as a media spectacle rather than an honest interaction with the media before a big fight. He wants to rile his opponents into forgetting their game plan and trying to hurt him. His speed around the ring as a former Cruiserweight World Champion helps him quickly turn the fight in his favour if this happens. He has fast hands and a big heart and plenty of confidence, all the ingredients of a top boxer.

After winning the WBA belt Haye must now fight John Ruiz who is the mandatory challenger for his title. Despite Ruiz being an experienced and durable heavyweight most boxing fans would expect Haye to beat Ruiz. This fight is scheduled to be arranged for around March 2010. Haye will undoubtedly be heavily supported in the betting markets for this fight so I will be getting in early to get the best price as any value will be immediately snapped up by loyal punters who support the Hayemaker. Look out for the fight announcement as odds will be available soon after for that fight.

Providing Haye dispatches the challenge of Ruiz there will be massive calls for him to finally step in the ring with one of the Klitschko brothers. Wladimir would be the obvious choice for me but the better fighter of the two, Vitali, would be a bigger box office draw and perhaps that is the obvious first brother to face Haye. I hope that Haye fights Wladimir first because if he can win that fight he will then go on to face Vitali in what would be a bigger fight. At the moment Vitali looks very good in the ring handily beating Kevin Simpson in a twelve round contest where Simpson, despite a gritty and brave performance, looked thoroughly outclassed against Vitali Klitschko.

If Haye fights Wladimir first then it gives father time longer to work on Vitali. He would be 39 by the time a fight occurred at the back end of 2010 or early 2011 and the additional delay before they meet would build the hype further and earn them more money. If age becomes a factor for Vitali Haye may win more easily than people expect. Haye would not have been favourite fighting either of the Klitschko brothers last year and perhaps the two fight cancellations will work out well for him by training more and allowing age to become a factor for the brothers.

If Haye was to fight Vitali now and lose it would be unlikely that Wladimir would be seen as a step up in class as it is widely regarded that Vitali is the best Klitschko. If Haye really wants to beat both, he must fight Wladimir first. Boxing betting fans would be heavily involved in both fights for sure with plenty of special and outright betting.

David Haye will be enjoying a good Christmas and New Year with his family with his future mapped out clearly for him. All he must do is win his boxing bouts and money, fame and his legacy will take care of itself. I expect he will easily beat Ruiz and look to set up a fight against Wladimir for around November 2010. After winning that fight he would look to face Vitali in a Heavyweight boxing superfight in around March or April 2011 and he has indicated that after those three fights he would probably retire.

We British boxing fans will continue to support him during this interesting boxing period and get some profitable bets on hopefully in the process!

After dismantling Miguel Cotto with a devastating show of speed and strength the indomitable Manny Pacquiao is now a four weight boxing World Champion. With the defeat of Cotto, De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton to his credit in the last twelve months there are few challenges that are left for this formidable boxer. The obvious fight for Manny now looks to be Floyd Mayweather Jr. If this fight does go ahead the reported revenues are likely to be in the $100 million range, making this one of the richest fights of all time. It will certainly be one of the most anticipated.

Boxing correspondent Mike Costello believes that Floyd Mayweathers defensive ability would present a far more difficult night for Pacquiao than his recent fights, where his opponents favoured a more attacking approach, which proved unsuccessful. Mayweather is fast but from a defensive standpoint very difficult to beat and it would be an intriguing boxing contest. Boxing betting fans will have to wait for a little while for this fight. The respective camps will let demand rise before cashing in on what would be one of the all time great fights in my opinion. I think the odds for this one would be very close, time will tell.

I am going to the post office tomorrow morning to collect my tickets for the Amir Khan versus Dmitriy Salita fight at Newcastle on December 5th. The undercard sees an eliminator between the undefeated Kevin Mitchell and Amir Khan’s sole conqueror Breidis Prescott. Whoever wins this will face Khan if he overcomes Salita and a rematch again Prescott would certainly attract plenty of attention. Both fighters have a lot to contend with before that fight occurs.

The undercard of Amir Khan’s fight is excellent which is great for me because it was unannounced when I ordered my tickets. James De Gale, Frankie Gavin and Billy-Jo Saunders all continue their careers with their next pro fight. All three of these fighters are products of the Amateur 2008 Beijing Olympic squads. At present, they fight on the same cards building their records and learning their trade and so far they all remain undefeated. Frankie Gavin was forced to miss the Olympics after failing to make weight but certainly looks as good as the media said he was and is a useful boxer. He has talked of having a title fight in around one year’s time so it will be excited to see how these three fighters do on December 5th.

Boxing betting fans looking to have a bet on Amir Khan’s fight can back him to win at odds of 1.12 with Salita available at odds of 5.50 from bwin.com. The draw is an unlikely outcome due to the explosive Khan style but those fancying it can back the draw at odds are 34.00. My predictions for this fight are that Khan will be looking to keep things defensively tight and this means an early knock out is unlikely. I think he may stop the fight in rounds five six or seven if he sees an opportunity and the odds for this to occur are currently 11.00, 12.00 and 13.00 respectively. If Khan sets his sights on out-pointing his opponent using good defensive boxing then the odds for Khan to win on points are currently 3.25. This is the tactic the bookmakers are favouring.

Khan has been criticised in the past for a gung-ho approach that saw him knocked out badly by Prescott. His chin is also suspect so employing a defensive approach and using his foot speed and hand speed keeps the fight based on his strengths and this will be the probable tactics his corner wants him to employ. Opponents look to engage Amir in a war knowing he is vulnerable to the big shot. I think once Khan stops engaging and boxes to his strengths he could be a long term world boxing champion in the mould of a Lennox Lewis.

Boxing betting is attractive for sports betting fans at the moment with the sheer quality of the matches on offer.

Charismatic newly crowned champion David Haye overcame a seven stone disadvantage and a broken hand in round two to beat the massive champion Nikolai Valuev on points. Two judges gave Haye the victory whilst one judge said the contest was a draw. This made Haye the first World Champion since Lennox Lewis in 2003 (if you discount Audley Harrison briefly holding the WBF belt since is considered the weakest of the four versions).

I watched the contest on pay-per-view and personally thought Haye was too negative and can count himself a little lucky to be the victor in the fight. He did a great job of dodging any offence from Valuev but could easily have been penalised on the scorecards for avoiding the action and not engaging. Valuev kept coming forward but was not doing anything against Haye. This may have been the deciding factor. Haye hurt Valuev in the last round and looked close to knocking him down. He certainly came through the fight looking fit and did not slow down throughout the twelve rounds. The judges felt Hayes skill in avoiding the big fighter was enough for the win.

British boxing is in a healthy situation now. We have a number of great prospects coming through in James De Gale, Frankie Gavin and Billy-Jo Saunders along with Amir Khan and Heavyweights like Sam Sexton and Martin Rogan. Even Audley Harrison won prizefighter and despite a few characteristic slow rounds, looked good doing it. The future is bright, and Haye is the standard bearer of them all. Comparisons are being made to the great Mohammed Ali who was also brash and confident as a champion.

Haye will now look to recover from his hand injury and start working his way through the queue of opponents now lined up to face him as champion. His next fight will be against John Ruiz who successfully fought on the undercard of Haye and Valuev thus earning himself a shot at the title. Ruiz is a good fight for Haye. He is not as fast as David and offers a gradual step up in class towards the fighters that Haye really wants to fight in the Klitschko brothers. I believe he will fight Vitali first, and then if successful Vladimir, who looked excellent in his last fight. Haye also has the benefit of being 29, whilst Vitali is 38 and age can catch up with a fighter quickly.

It will certainly be exciting to follow and support David Haye in his next three fights where should he win; he would have to be considered the best Heavyweight boxer in the world at that point.

I questioned whether 1.72 was too short from bwin.com but evidently they knew got it right. There are plenty of boxing betting odds at bwin.com with the next big fight being the Catchweight (145lbs) contest between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto, in what promises to be another classic. “Packman” is currently favourite at 1.45 with Cotto at odds of 2.70. The draw is 23.00. That fight is on November 15th.

British fans are looking forward to the Amir Khan fight against New York fighter Dmitriy Salita where Khan is strong favourite at odds of 1.12 to win that fight. Salita is not pushover and can be backed at odds of 5.50 with the draw priced at 34.00. That fight is on December 5th at the Newcastle Arena. I have tickets to that fight for my first live boxing experience so I cannot wait.
